Foundation Pro Announces the Retirement of Veteran Ken Brown

September 5, 2023 (Little Rock, AR) – After a long-respected career Vietnam Veteran and Project Representative for Foundation Pro, Ken Brown has announced his retirement. He worked for 58 years serving his country, community, and customers.

Brown was raised in Cammack Village, Little Rock where he joined the Marine Corps immediately following high school. Between 1965 and 1970, he dedicated himself to his country, serving during the Vietnam War and advancing to the rank of Sergeant. He graduated college from Arkansas Teachers College (UCA).

Many locals remember Brown as the recreation superintendent of North Little Rock Parks and Recreation. He served the community for over 15 years beginning in 1971.

Described by many as a man of few words, Brown started his sales career in 1987. He eventually found his home with Foundation Pro when the company opened its doors in 1996.

Bob Stroud, President and Founder described Ken as an important part of growing his company. “He was the most dependable, strong, silent person I knew. I always admired him. His moral compass was always pointed in the right direction.”

“I’ll never forget when I interviewed with Bob,” stated Ken. “I wanted to make sure if I sold it, the company would back the customer.  Even after all these years, they have gone above and beyond for their employees and customers.”

Over the past 25 years, Ken has grown with the company. Today, Foundation Pro is one of the largest locally-owned foundation repair companies in the state. The company has won multiple awards for its work, customer service, and integrity, including the 2019 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics.

Brent Stroud, Director of Operations, first met Ken when he was in his early 20’s. His work ethic and ability to remember foundation stories of nearly every home he has sold are quite impressive.

“In the early years of the company, he worked hard in every aspect of the company. He was the kind of guy that would put on his good clothes to sell a job.  And the next day showed up to the job site in a jumpsuit to dig holes and physically help the crews.”

Ken Brown’s strong work ethic spread contagiously within the company and will endure in the times ahead.  He advises young people to work hard, be truthful, and put customers first to advance in any career.

Bob added, “He is going to be greatly missed. But I do wish him well in his retirement.”

Ken looks forward to spending more time with his family, traveling, and checking some things off his wife Shirley’s honey-do list.
